6 DAYS CENTRAL VIETNAM PANORAMA BY RAIL
Hoi An, Hue & Quy Nhon
Family Travel, History & Culture
Central Vietnam is home to the country’s largest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, anchored by two extraordinary ancient towns, including the former royal capital of Hue and the ancient seaport of Hoi An which had been awarded as Travel + Leisure’s Best City in Asia.
Immerse in the local charm as walk, boat and bike through Hoi An inside and out. Make a day trip to the former royal capital to admire the Forbidden City, symbol of Vietnam’s last feudal power.
Finally, we journey south on a scenic rail journey into the rugged coastal town of Quy Nhon, a hidden gem far from the other over-touristed beach destinations in Vietnam.
Arriving in Da Nang, we transfer to your Hoi An hotel. Visit Cam Pho communal houses, 17th century Chua Cau (Japanese-Covered Bridge), Quan Thang ancient house with oriental sculptures made in Kim Bong carpentry village, Phuc Kien (Fujian Assembly Hall) where Chinese traders gathered to honour the deity Thien Hau (Goddess of the Sea), Hoi An centre market to observe local lives across colourful stalls of vegetables, meats and fishes and conclude with a Thu Bon River sunset boat trip.
Discover rural Hoi An by bike, visiting Tra Que vegetable farms for hands-on planting and harvesting experience before cycling to Cam Thanh Coconut Village to board a local round basket boat across wetland ecosystem where you can try catching crabs for lunch. After green tea and medicinal herb foot massage, learn how to cook typical Vietnam dishes such as pancakes, spring rolls, grilled fish in banana leaves, etc.
During your evening leisure time, you may want to explore Hoi An’s street food such as cao láu (unique rice noodle with pork, greens, bean sprouts and herb), fried wonton, bánh xèo (pancake) and the famous Bánh Mì Pháng (Mdm. Phuong’s baguette) which was highly praised by the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.
