12 DAYS UNTOUCHED TANZANIA
Dar Es Salaam, Nyerere, Ruaha, Seronera, Rubondo Island, Arusha
Outdoor & Adventure, Nature & Wildlife
Uncover the best kept secrets of Tanzania away from the crowd. The fascinating Ruaha National Park is home to one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations and wild predators that hunt along the baobab-studded forests and the swirling Great Ruaha River. Head to the remote Nyerere National Park with its rich ecosystem, including possibly Africa’s largest population of the endangered wild dogs, that is supported by Rufiji River’s network of lakes and lagoons. Wrap up your journey in the secluded Rubondo Island, a lush sanctuary in Lake Victoria, where the elusive chimpanzees can be spotted foraging through the forest.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation. The rest of the day is free at leisure for you to rest after your long-haul flight.

Fed by the Rufiji River, Nyerere is a unique sanctuary for diverse wildlife, boasting an admirable ecosystem where elephants, lions, leopards and hippos, as well as potentially the largest population of the elusive African wild dogs live side by side. Far from the touristed northern circuit of Tanzania, Nyerere provides an uncrowded game drive experience where you may encounter large herbivores and predators up and close, or embark on a walking safari as you track animal footprints and Nyerere’s tiniest creatures. There are also opportunities to embark on boating safaris where you may be able to observe crocodiles sunbathing on the sandbanks, hippos splashing in the shallows and watch elephants drinking at the edge of the river.

During your stay, we have included 1 balloon safari trip. Soar above the wild plains of Ruaha as the gentle winds steer you between the baobabs and acacias, dipping down to just above the wide Ruaha River where the dawn chorus rises into the painted sky. Known for its stunning wilderness and contrast, Ruaha is a meeting point for the wildlife of southern and eastern Africa, and it is here that you might just chance upon something really special from the air!
This experience is operational between 15 June to 31 October. A minimum of 6 guests is required.
Fed by the Great Ruaha River, Ruaha is the second largest park in Tanzania. Its vast expanse of wilderness rears an interesting habitat such as cheetahs, lions, leopards, the endangered African wild dogs, as well as one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations and a rich variety of over 570 bird species! A truly remote and unspoiled paradise, this is one of Africa’s most well-kept hidden gems, especially for those seeking something truly off-the-beaten. Night drives, walking safaris (September to October) and boating safaris (June to August) are also available.

Rubondo Island, nestled in Lake Victoria, is a pristine forest haven where you can embark on an exciting adventure with your ranger to track wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat. The best time for a chimpanzee safari in Tanzania is from June to September and December to February, when the trails are less muddy and the vegetation is sparser, offering better chances to spot these elusive primates. Please note: This activity is only available for guests aged 12 and above.
Today is free at leisure for you to enjoy your property. You may want to indulge yourself for an in-room massage or head out for a safari. Rubondo Island’s lush evergreen foliage is home to diverse birdlife, spotted-necked otters, and even forest elephants!
