Sichuan is home to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you can observe adorable pandas in their natural habitat. Additionally, the Wolong Nature Reserve and Bifengxia Panda Base provide opportunities to learn about panda conservation efforts.

Guizhou, located in southwestern China, is known for its stunning karst landscapes, traditional minority cultures, and rural charm. Renowned for its breathtaking karst formations, limestone peaks, and scenic rice terraces. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in Asia, is a must-visit attraction. The beautiful Longji Rice Terraces near Guilin and the unique stone forest formations in Libo County are also worth exploring.

Best Time to Visit

Given the massive size of China, different areas have varying climate though in general, spring (Mar-May) and autumn (Sep-Nov) is generally the best time to visit China with the exception of Tibet, which is closed to foreigners for about 2 months in spring.

Avoid traveling to China during the Golden Week and Chinese New Year period.

If you can get past the cold, winter can be a good time to visit, with lesser crowd and Tibet is actually a good destination to visit during winter.
