From the tropical rainforest around the natural wonders of Iguazu Falls to the Argentinian Patagonia of El Calafate – Argentina offers geographic extremes and superlative landscape. Other than the natural wonders, Argentina also seduces visitors with her sensual tango, cowboys, grills, and full-bodied wine, complementing any luxury travel to this fascinating South America country.
Visit Buenos Aires, the country’s vibrant capital city commonly referred to as “Paris of the South” with its eclectic architecture, Parisian-style cafes and wine and dine scene. Mendoza, lying at the foothills of Central Andes is famed for its winery while the northwest region of Salta features roaming Ilamas, coloured tiered hills, salt flats and volcanoes.
The highlight of any trip to Argentina got to be Iguazu Falls – a true natural wonder with its impressive cascading falls, the lake-district of Bariloche with snow-capped volcanoes, lush pine forest and turquoise lakes. End the trip at the extreme south, where you will see one of the most stunning natural phenomena on the continent – the Perito Moreno Glacier, the world’s largest advancing glaciers – a sight to behold!
The summer months (Nov-Mar) is generally the best time to visit Argentina although it can get very hot in the north (Salta, La Rioja) during this period. Winter (Apr-Oct) is more ideal if you are planning to visit the north. Iguazu Falls can be visited year-round though the summer months mean higher humidity and rainfall but with higher water levels and sprays. Visiting Iguazu Falls during the dry season (Apr-Oct) brings cooler weather with opportunities for more walks and outdoor activities.
