Explore Egypt’s Hidden Gem
Another “wow” experience awaits today. Take an excursion by flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The colossus statues of Ramses II and Nefatari set by the lake is indeed a sight to behold. This is also perhaps UNESCO most amazing effort to save a monument.
Later, return by flight to Aswan and visit a Nubian house.
Highlight of Aswan
Visit the Temple of Philae, which has been entirely moved to the island of Algikia during the construction of the high barrage. Next we proceed to the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples, and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk.
Our luxurious Nile Cruise, Historia welcome us today with an evening entertaiment section.
Set sail and the cruise is going to dock at Kom Ombo for the overnight.
Cruising in Nile River
This early morning, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank.
Cruise to Edfu during breakfast. Participate in an Egyptian cooking lesson on board. In the afternoon, we will visit the extraordinary Temple of Horus. Enjoy lunch and afternoon tea on board, while you pass by Esna Lock. The cruise is going to dock at Luxor for the overnight.
Luxor East Bank
After lunch, we tour the Karnak Temple, one of the two iconic sites on the East Bank of Luxor. Visit the Luxor Museum which houses a collection of masterpieces of pharaonic art as well as examples of everyday objects found in ancient Thebes. Then enjoy an excursion to the Luxor Temples at night. The graceful temple complex is constructed approximately 1400 BCE.
Luxor West Bank
In the morning, we will explore the west bank of Luxor covering the Colossi of Memnon, temple of Queen Hatchepsut and the Valley of the Kings (including King Tut Tomb, Seti I Tomb and Ramses The Six Tomb).
