Upon arrival in Tongren, the Gateway to Guizhou’s Eastern Area, we transfer 30m to your hotel. If time permits, we drive 41km/1hr to Wanshan National Mine Park, a former mercury mine from Qin and Han Dynasties 2,000 years ago. Walk the glass path hanging 100m high on the cliff, or through the colourfully lit tunnel.

Set off 82km/3.5h to Fanjing Mountain  (UNESCO), one of China’s 14 “Man & Biosphere” projects for UN global nature reserve. Ride a shuttle bus and cable car to view the Red Cloud Golden Peak , with its rocky thumb soaring nearly 100m above surrounding mountains, capped by two temples linked by a short bridge at its summit.

Drive 160km/3hrs to Zhenyuan. Wander at this 2000-year-old town, cut through by Wuyang River with over 160 scenic spots featuring palaces, pavilions, temples, intricate residences and ancient bridges.

Drive 50km/1.5hr to Shibing’s Shanmu River. Its crystal clear water comes from 1.3m underground riverbed, safe for white water rafting (Jul-Sep). Alternatively, drive 1hr to Yuntai Mountain for its karst formation. Continue 64km/1.15hr to Jianhe, blessed with 6 natural hot springs (38-50°C) and check in to your hotel.

Leave 63km/1hr to Xijiang, China’s largest Miao community with over 1,000 ethnic families. Visit the local museum and the mountainside wooden stilt houses. As the village lights up in the evening, enjoy an evening singing and dancing performance at the central square.

Depart for Shiqiao Miao Village to learn traditional paper hand-making. Stop by Danzhai Wanda Village, where the Miao minorities account for the largest population and designated as Wanda Group’s “Enterprise Sponsored County-wide Comprehensive Poverty Alleviation” program in 2014. After lunch, continue to Libo and check into your hotel.

Spend the day to enjoy Libo. Visit the Seven Big Arches Scenic Area  and the Seven Small Arches Scenic Area of Libo, located among the karst peaks.  The nature splendor also combined with the authentic cultural flavor of the Tujia and Yao minority people.

Drive 280km/4hrs to Guiyang for your departure flight, with following optional tours if time permits:

• Hike the hilly urban forest of Qianling Shan Park 
• Explore Qingyan old town  (one of Guizhou’s four ancient towns), the Ming-era abandoned fortress resting atop a mountain
