Designed for wildlife lovers, this meticulously crafted journey presents the rare opportunity for close-up encounters with regal polar bears in their natural habitats! In October and November, there is also a high chance of seeing Northern Lights at Dymond Lake Ecolodge, located under the auroral oval in the pristine heart of northern Canada.
Experience two types of polar bear viewing on this Great Ice Bear adventure, on foot and on board the Tundra Buggy. With an additional pre-safari day in Winnipeg, recharge fully before heading off for your adventure, with our Tour Concierge to ensure you’re well taken care of!

Arrival in Winnipeg
Upon arrival into Winnipeg, proceed to your airport hotel for dinner and a good rest after your long flight.
Winnipeg Tour & Orientation Dinner
The morning will be at your leisure.
After lunch, go on a guided tour of the Canadian Human Rights Museum dedicated to exploring and promoting human rights and one of the top sights not to miss in Winnipeg.
Winter gear fitting and collection will be around 5pm, followed by an orientation dinner hosted by Churchill Wild to get ready for the adventure ahead!
Unveiling the Adventure
Arrive from Winnipeg into Churchill and transfer to a fixed-wing aircraft for a short flight to Dymond Lake Ecolodge.
This exciting flight soars above the historic Churchill River and the rugged Hudson Bay. Keep your senses keen for possible glimpses of wildlife, including the Great Ice Bears, amidst the breathtaking Arctic landscape.
Arriving into your lodge, your hosts will guide you for an orientation tour and get you settled into your room. A thorough orientation on travelling in polar bear country will be provided prior to your first outings.
Polar Bear Photo Safari
Every morning, your guides will unveil a plan for the day’s safari. Bring your beloved cameras to capture intimate moments with Arctic wildlife, framed against stunning sea and snowy vistas surrounding your lodge.
Your dining time will be adjusted with flexibility in order to maximize your wildlife encounter experience. As the evening unfolds, indulge in the signature dinners and head to the cozy lounge for captivating presentations by local wildlife experts.
Slumber at your leisure, assured that your vigilant hosts will rouse you if the northern lights or a nocturnal polar bear make an appearance.
A Churchill Discovery
Following another hearty breakfast, keep your cameras ready for beautiful aerial shots as you soar above the sky on your transfer back to Churchill.
In Churchill town, uncover its rich history as a seaport and an ex-military base. Highlights include stops at the Parks Canada exhibit, the Itsanitaq Museum, the Polar Bear Jail, as well as the 2016 Sea Walls murals.
Tundra Buggy Excursion
Venture onto established trails on the Churchill Wildlife Management Area on the Tundra Buggy for an alternative mode of polar bear viewing! Lunch will be out on the tundra during the tour.
In the evening, we fly back to Winnipeg to stay for the night.
Farewell Lunch & Transfer to Airport
Enjoy the morning at your own leisure, followed by a farewell lunch before your flight home!
