Sail the beautiful Flores islands in search of the Komodo dragons, baby reef sharks, manta rays and watch thousands of bats flying at dusk. Dubbed the world’s living dinosaur, Komodo is the biggest lizard still existing, with the largest measuring up to 3.13m and weighing 166kg.
This program is also designed to include not only wildlife experiences, but also beautiful hikes, pristine water snorkelling and unique cultural immersion with Caci whip fight dance to round up your times.
Arriving into Komodo International Airport, you will be transferred into your hotel in the Labuan Bajo area to check-in and rest for the day.
Our private speed boat tour will begin around 7.30am today. In around 1.5 hours, you will reach Padar Island to trek around 30 minutes to a panoramic viewpoint. Continue for snorkelling at the Pink Beach and Makasar Reef, where if you are in luck you can snorkel with baby reef sharks and manta rays (Dec-Feb).
After lunch in the boat, we head to Rinca Island, one of the last few places in the world where Komodo island still exists in the wild. Embark on medium trek program to visit the Komodo dragon nest and hike up to a hill viewpoint. Komodo dragons can be spotted all year round, although it takes more effort to spot them during mating season (Jul-Aug) and nesting season (Sep-Nov).
On your return to the shore, we stop around Kalong Island to watch thousands of bats flying at dusk heading into their feeding grounds.
Spend the day for Flores cultural discovery. Head to Melo Village around 1h from your hotel for a Caci dance welcome ceremony, a unique ritual whip fight crucial for the Manggarai ethnic groups. Continue driving 2.5h to Cancar’s Spider Web Rice Fields before returning to your hotel.
Enjoy free time at leisure to enjoy your hotel and beach facilities before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
