Upon arrival in Antananarivo, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
This morning, we drive about 1.5 hours to the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, the former palace of the Malagasy royal family and now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
A 4-hour drive brings us to the biodiverse haven of Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. As night falls, we head into the forest for a guided walk, with the chance to spot elusive nocturnal species like mouse lemur (Microcebus), leaf-tailed geckos (Uroplatus) and more.
Begin your day with a walking safari in the Analamazaotra Reserve, a tropical forest home to numerous species of lemurs, including the biggest one called Indri Indri.
Later, enjoy a private talk by a specialist of lemurs to learn about these iconic and unique primates native to Madagascar, to deepen your understanding after your firsthand encounter with the species in the wild.
Head to Vakona Lemur Island, a private reserve offering you opportunity for close encounter with a few species of lemurs.
Afterwards, we will drive about 5 hours back to Antananarivo to rest for the night
Begin your day with a guided stroll through the historic heart of Antananarivo, where a vibrant tapestry of cultures and influences is reflected in landmarks like the Queen’s Palace.
Then, soar over the changing landscapes on a private charter flight (approx. 2h) to Ranohira’s dramatic terrain. On your way to the lodge nestled among the sandstone mountains, take a moment to capture the view at the Window of Isalo.
Often dubbed “Isalo Jurassic Park” or the “Malagasy Colorado,” the region’s towering canyons and surreal sandstone formations are as rich in geological wonder as they are in biodiversity. Among its residents are five lemur species, including the elegant Verreaux’s sifaka and the iconic ring-tailed lemur.
We will spend the entire day on foot, discovering the park’s most scenic corners and keeping an eye out for lemurs and other wildlife along the way.
This morning, we fly by private plane to Morondava (approx. 1h 15min), located on Madagascar’s west coast and the gateway to two major natural highlights.
Our first stop is Kirindy Reserve, a dry deciduous forest rich in biodiversity. Look out for endemic species including a variety of lemurs, colorful chameleons, and more.
In the afternoon, visit the famed Avenue of the Baobabs. Madagascar is home to 5 of the world’s 6 baobab species, 4 of which are endemic here. Walk among these towering trees and enjoy a scenic sundowner in this unforgettable landscape.
Start early this morning as we board our private charter flight (approx. 45min) to Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park.
Named after the Malagasy word meaning “to walk on tiptoe,” the Tsingy’s jagged limestone formations form a surreal and nearly impenetrable landscape. Today, explore either the Petit Tsingy, offering scenic hikes and easier access, or opt for the more strenuous Grand Tsingy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic landscapes and challenging terrain.
Return to the Bemaraha Airstrip for our charter flight (approx. 2.5h including a refueling stop) to Anjajavy, a secluded peninsula on Madagascar’s northwest coast, accessible only by air.
Our destination is the exclusive Relais & Châteaux resort, tucked within its own private reserve and bordered by the azure waters of the Mozambique Channel. With its refined service and remote beauty, it offers an ideal setting to conclude our Madagascar journey, though there is still much to discover.
This evening, explore the forest by moonlight. As darkness falls, the reserve reveals its hidden inhabitants: mouse lemurs, lepilemurs, dwarf lemurs, chameleons, and an array of night birds.
Step into an unforgettable adventure within the Anjajavy Reserve as you journey to Antafiamoara – a remote village cradled between limestone tsingy, lush mangroves, and tropical forest. Here lies the heart of the lodge’s most ambitious conservation effort: Madagascar’s only megafauna reintroduction program, featuring the majestic Aldabra giant tortoises.
Continue on a guided walking safari through the forest, with the chance to encounter lemurs, diverse bird species, reptiles, and a wide range of plant life that thrive in this unique ecosystem.
Be swept away by the charm of Moramba Bay, where towering baobabs, untouched beaches, and quirky islets await discovery on a scenic boat excursion along the northwest coast. If water conditions are favorable, enjoy a bit of snorkeling. Afterwards, spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
This morning, we fly by charter back to Antananarivo (approx. 1h 45min), where your journey through Madagascar comes to a close as you connect to your onward flight.
