8 DAYS UGANDA GORILLA & CHIMPANZEE SAFARI
Entebbe, Kibale NP, Kasese, Queen Elizabeth NP, Bwindi NP
Outdoor & Adventure, Nature & Wildlife
Come face-to-face with the magnificent mountain gorillas of Bwindi’s impenetrable forests and get acquainted with well-habituated chimpanzees for a rare opportunity to get up and close with these shy creatures. Nestled at the meeting point of Central African rainforests and the East African savannahs, Uganda provides opportunity to encounter the Big 5 but without the typical crowd of Kenya or Tanzania.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation.
You will be transferred from your accommodation to the airport.
Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver-guide and you will be transferred to the Kibale Forest area.
Visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, home to around 200 species of birds. More importantly, the sanctuary is a community-based project which has helped upgrade the lives of the people living around the area.
Today, we enter the Kibale Forest in search of the magnificent chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share about 99% of their DNA with humans, making them our closest living relatives. Spend some time with them and observe as they go about their daily lives. Thereafter, enjoy a Tinka’s local lunch experience.
The rest of the afternoon is free at leisure for you to unwind or enjoy lodge facilities.
You will be transferred approximately 2.5 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park, followed by a shared boat transfer along the Kazinga Channel into the camp.
After a sundowner, depart for your evening game drive. Experience the enchanting allure of the African bush at night, where the thrill of the hunt unfolds and nocturnal creatures awaken beneath a canopy of twinkling stars.
Rise early for your morning game drive into the wilds of Queen Elizabeth NP, famous for four of the big fives. Expect to spot lions, spotted hyenas, hippos, elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, water bucks, occasional leopard sightings and many more. We can also enjoy scheduled boat launch or dhow cruise, as well as sundowners during your stay at the Queen Elizabeth NP.
After a boat transfer to the mainland, a private vehicle will whisk you into the Bwindi NP. Depending on the time of your arrival, we may be able to arrange a community walk.
Bwindi NP is a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site and accessible only on foot. It provides habitat for over 90 mammals, 346 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies and more. The park, however, is most notable for her 340 Mountain Gorillas, representing half of the world’s population of this critically endangered primate. Once you locate the family, the sensational feeling is almost indescribable. It is a humbling experience to stand just metres from man’s distant cousins as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young.
You will be transferred by a private vehicle to Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Entebbe, where you can enjoy a hot lunch in town before your private airport transfer departs from Entebbe to your onward destination.
