Dive into its heart-wrenching past and uncover the country’s deep, resilient heritage. Many of Poland’s cities have been painstakingly restored to its former glory and now recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites! Beyond the cities, we will reminisce the tale of caution in the Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz, admire underground salt chapels and option to visit the picturesque countryside capped by Tatras Mountains.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01 Arrival in Gdansk

Transfer: Airport to Accommodation

Arriving into Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest, or you may want to take your free at leisure time to walk along the quaint riverside.

Day 02 Gdansk / Malbork / Gdansk

Gdansk Walking Tour

Walk pass the exteriors of the Gothic Prison Tower, Renaissance Golden Gate, charming ate Gothic and Renaissance houses of Dluga Street, Artus Hall Court and Neptune Fountain, St. Mary’s Church at Mariacka Street, the Old Crane by the picturesque Motlawa River Bank.

Excursion to Oliva Cathedral & Malbork

Drive to the Gates of Gdansk Shipyard where the “Solidarity Union” collapsed into the hands of the Communist regime and Oliva Cathedral (entrance included) to admire the regular Rococo organ concert. Make an excursion to Malbork to explore the UNESCO-listed Teutonic Knight Castle of Marienburg (entrance included, closed on Mondays), a quintessential medieval defensive castle.

Day 03 Gdansk / Torun / Warsaw

Transfer: Gdansk to Warsaw via Torun

You will be transferred from Gdansk to Warsaw with sightseeing stop at Torun.

Torun: Birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus

Set off for a walking tour of Torun’s medieval old town (2 hours). Inscribed in UNESCO, Turon is the birthplace of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Both the house and the chapel where he was christened can still be found in the city!

Day 04 Warsaw

Half Day Warsaw Walkng Tour

Once destroyed during World War II, Warsaw has gloriously returned as one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals and a UNESCO site today. Admire the exteriors of Sigismund III Vasa monument and the Baroque Royal Castle at the Castle Square, St. John’s Cathedral and the Old Town Square.

This afternoon, choose from the following options:

Option 1: Wilanow Palace

Visit Wilanow Palace (three hours, entrance included), the summer residence of King John Sobieski. Admire the supreme furnishings and Polish portraits, followed by a stroll along the lush surroundings of English, Italian, Baroque and rose gardens.

Option 2: Jewish Quarter Walking Tour

Visit the Jewish Quarter, home to the largest Jewish community in Europe. During the war, Warsaw’s Jewish inhabitants were forced to live in one designated district known as the Warsaw Ghetto. Gain a better understanding of this ghetto, followed by a visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum (closed on Tuesdays) and POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews (closed on Tuesdays).

Day 05 Warsaw / Chestochowa / Auschwitz / Krakow

Transfer: Warsaw to Krakow via Chestochowa & Auschwitz

You will be transferred from Warsaw to Krakow with sightseeing stops.

Jasna Gora Monastery

Visit the Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa. This is the third largest Catholic pilgrimage site in the world, as well as the monastery where the Black Madonna is located.

Auschwitz: Nazi’s Concentration Camp

No tour to Poland is complete without Auschwitz (entrance included). Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will dive deep into the history of the biggest Nazi concentration camp.

Day 06 Krakow

Krakow Walking Tour

Explore the Krakow Old Town (UNESCO) with its Barbican, Florianska Gate, Collegium Maius courtyard, Main Market Square, Cloth Hall and an entrance visit to St. Mary’s Church.

Private Tour of Wieliczka Salt Mine

Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine (UNESCO), comprising of tunnels 300km deep with chapels sculpted in salt.

Day 07 Krakow

Option 1: Zakopane Countryside

Explore the Polish countryside. Take a funicular to Gubalowka Hill for picturesque views over the Tatras Mountains. Follow the pedestrian precinct of Krupowki Street where rustic restaurants can be found alongside shops selling lamb-wool sweaters and wooden figures. During the tour, you will also see the architectures of Villa Koliba, Jaszczurowka Chapel and the Chocolow Wooden Village.

Option 2: Mannerist Shrine & Wawel Castle

Visit the religious complex of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska (UNESCO). Built in the Mannerist style, it is an excellent example of calvary shrines from the Counter-Reformation period and remains as an active pilgrimage site. Thereafter, enjoy a visit to Wawel Castle (entrance included), a limestone hill in the centre of Krakow upon the Vistula River with impressive historical monuments. As the seat of Polish rules, Wawel is a national and cultural symbol for the Poles.
