Meet your guide for a walking tour of Munich's old town, visiting places for good food and company like the Hofbräuhaus and historical buildings like the New Town Hall and the Church of our Lady. Exploring the Stachus and the English Garden, you will learn a lot about Munich’s history.

Munich Viktualienmarkt’s Farmer Experience (2hrs)

The historic Viktualienmarkt farmers’ market is a delight for all the senses. It is located in the heart of the old town and it is a premier place to shop for fresh produce, dairy, bread, Bavarian specialities and even Bavarian arts and crafts! Your guide will introduce you to the marketeers who are happy to share more about their traditional Bavarian products and their history. Enjoy bites of local delicacies like Obatzter with fresh bread or local cheese as you listen to their fascinating stories.

Munich At Leisure

Day at leisure in Munich to explore on your own, from its many excellent museums, to the enchanting Nymphenburg Palace and gardens, the summer residence of the former rulers of Bavaria. Don’t miss out on the famous BMW World to get acquainted with the car manufacturer’s illustrious history, with an opportunity to visit the plant and gain an insight on the production of the vehicles. We will be happy to arrange a tour if you wish to learn more.

After breakfast, pick up your rental car and start your self-drive journey along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg (approx. 260km, 3hrs).

En route, make a stop at Ausburg, the oldest city in Bavaria, with stunning Renaissance buildings.

Arrive at Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where you will immerse yourself in medieval life. Thousand years of history will pass in a moment and bring the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to life right before your eyes.

Rothenburg Private Walking Tour (2hrs)

This tour through the historic old town with its romantic alleyways and picturesque squares offers an overview of the various aspects and epochs of the history of the town of Rothenburg. Treat yourself to a tour of the most important and beautiful historic buildings and find out what life was like in a medieval town.

The afternoon is at your leisure to explore – visit the German Christmas Museum, walk on the old city walls, or take a short hike to Detwang village and visit the Church of St James.

A Night Watchman tour can also be arranged through dark alleyways and across dimly lit squares to enjoy the special mood of the town at night. Listen to his stories and find out how the people lived in the Middle Ages – a wonderful finale for your evening in Rothenburg.

Take on the autobahn today for the long drive up to Dresden (approx. 420km, 4hr 15min) – there are certain stretches where there is no speed limit. We will be happy to recommend stops en route for lunch for sightseeing.

Dresden Private Walking Tour (3hrs)

There are many ways to interpret or define the city's culture, but Germans will understand if you summarize it with just one word: Dresden. The sheer abundance and splendour of the city's cultural treasures are enough to take your breath away. Discover the historic centre during a guided walking tour, taking in the main sights such as the old town, Church of Our Lady, Royal Palace Zwinger, Semper Opera, The Georgentor and the Procession of Princes, Brühl Terrace & the river Elbe.

After breakfast, a transfer will be arranged to Dresden train station for your train in first class to Berlin (approx. 2hrs).

Berlin Private Highlights Tour (3hrs)

Your guide will take you on a 3-hour private panoramic highlights tour by car through Berlin. You will see Berlin’s most famous sights and will learn about Berlin’s colorful history and get to know the hidden spots of the city.

Berlin Street Art Tour (3hrs)

It is hard to find a place in this creative city that is not painted, tagged, sprayed or otherwise decorated. Graffiti is an established part of the art scene in Berlin and an expression of how this city ticks. See some of the city’s larger-than-life murals by international artists such as Blu and track the proliferation of stickers, stencils, paste-ups and tags throughout Berlin’s streets.

Potsdam Private Excursion from Berlin (Full Day)

Meet your driver and guide at your hotel lobby for the excursion to Potsdam.

Potsdam is best known for its magnificent palaces and parks (UNESCO World heritage sites) that date back to its time as the former royal seat of Prussia. During the tour you will see the highlights of this city including the Glienicke Bridge. This bridge connects Potsdam and Berlin and is the place where East and West exchanged secret agents and spies during the Cold War.

Your next stop is Cecilienhof Palace, which was the last castle built by the Hohenzollern dynasty. The Potsdam Conference took place there in 1945, at which the four victorious powers decided to divide Berlin and Germany. Afterwards you are going to visit the Dutch Quarter and the famous Nauener and Brandenburg Gates.

Afterwards you continue to the famous Palace Sanssouci. No other castle is more closely associated with Frederick the Great than Sanssouci. It was his summer residence and the name Sanssouci – “without worries” – should be understood as the striving and leitmotif of the king. There the king preferred to surround himself with his closest friends, the intellectual elite of his court and enlightened scientists and writers from Italy and France.

After breakfast, transfer to Berlin Train Station for your train in first class to Hamburg (approx. 2.5hrs). Upon arrival in Hamburg, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Hamburg Highlights Private Tour with Harbour Cruise (6hrs)

As one of Europe’s largest and most important port cities, Hamburg has a fascinating history and a rich maritime heritage. Listen to exciting anecdotes from Hanseatic trade deals to WWII bombing as you pass points of interest that mark the development of this world port city, such as the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt, Jungfernsteig pedestrian street, the Kontorhaus district, the Nikolai Church, and the Elbphilharomie in Hafen City with a great view over the biggest seaport in Germany. Finish with a cruise to get a different perspective of the harbour, with colourful containers, huge cargo ships and complex logistics and an intriguing lifestyle that traces the development of Hamburg into a world port city.

Luneburg Excursion (Full Day)

The charming town of Luneburg has a rich Hanseatic history. Salt mining once was a source of wealth for its inhabitants, as the architectural ensemble of the city, which has been perfectly preserved to this day, attests to. Stroll through the old centre with a guide, along the legendary "Salzböschung" at the Ilmenau and the fish market Stintmarkt and learn a lot of interesting things about the Hanseatic past of this city. Special to the region is the Lüneburger Heide Nature Park. Picturesque meadows covered with juniper, heather and flowers make this place attractive for hiking, cycling or horse riding.

After breakfast, transfer to Hamburg Train Station for your train in first class to Frankfurt Train Station (approx. 4hrs). Upon arrival in Frankfurt, a transfer will be arranged to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore Frankfurt, from the history and modernity of the Old Town to the shopping mile to wonderful museums that line the Main River. We will be happy to arrange a guide if you would like to learn more about the diversity of this bustling city.
