Bogota: Capital City Exploration 

Spend a full day exploring Bogota, the third-highest capital in South America, situated at an average of 2,640m above sea level. Head to La Candelaria, the historic part of the city, distinguished by its numerous colonial-era architectures to discover the lovely colonial mansions, Plaza de Bolivar, the Cathedral of Colombia and the Capitol.  
 
Keep your eyes peeled for over 50,000 pieces of gold and other materials exhibited in the Gold Museum. Next, ride a cable car to the summit of Sanctuary of Monserrate at 3,172m above sea level for panoramic views of the city on one side and the Andes on the other.

Cocora Valley & Salento
This morning, journey to the iconic Cocora Valley, situated at 2,400m above sea level and home to the worlds tallest wax palms. Embark on a leisurely 2.5-3-hour hike through the cloud forest, immersing yourself in its rich flora and fauna, followed by a picnic lunch set up at a private reserve. 
 
Continue to the charming town of Salento, known for its colourful balconies, artisan workshops, and stunning views of the valley. Try your hand at Tejo, a traditional Colombian game, for a fun local experience.

Transformation of Medellin
We will explore places that best represent the social transformation of Medellin for the past 20 years, after the era of Pablo Escobar the drug lord ended. Today, Medellin is a bustling city with innovative urban design. Visit San Javier, or called Comuna 13, and delve into the dramatic history of this district.  
 
Proceed to Botero Square, an open-air plaza where 23 sculptures by the renowned artist Fernando Botero are on display. Then, follow the footsteps of Carlos Gardel, who made Medellin the largest tango metropolis outside of Argentina, and soak yourself in the tango culture of Medellin.  
 
In the evening, awaken your senses with an immersive tasting-menu dinner at El Cielo, the acclaimed restaurant founded by a Michelin-starred chef.

Excursion to Guatape
Embark on a 2-hour scenic drive from Medellín to Guatapé, which means "stones and water" in Quechua. The Colombian government created the reservoir for a hydroelectric dam. In the middle sits the enormous 220m-tall Peñol Rock. If you are full of energy, you may climb the long flight of 740 steps for a spectacular bird's-eye view of the lake and its tiny islands. 
Visit the picturesque village of Guatapé with pastel-coloured houses, then enjoy a private boat tour of the reservoir before returning to Medellín.

Afterwards, we drive approximately 2 hours to Cartagena.

Set out on a guided Gabriel García Márquez walking tour, delving into the old city’s evocative streets and stories.
