Greenland, the largest and most inhospitable island on the earth, most of the area is located in the Arctic Circle, about three-quarters of the island’s surface is covered in ice and snow.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01 ARRIVAL IN REYKJAVIK, EMBARKATION

Our journey begins at Reykjavik, capital of Iceland. Make you way to the hotel for an overnight. You will have the rest of the day to explore the city on your own.

This afternoon, you’ll board your cruise and begin your expedition. Get ready for a great adventure ahead!

Day 03 CRUISE AT SEA

Sail across the Denmark Strait, learn from the expedition team about the wildlife and enthralling history of Greenland, its fascinating geology, ecology and climate, and the incredible sights you will soon explore. Also keep watching out for the seabirds as well as the whales that can be encountered along the way.

Day 04-05 CRUISE EAST GREENLAND

Sail along the East Greenland coast, one of the least visited and most remote part of the island.  Glide past icebergs and glaciers. Cruise between mountains of Skjoldungen Fjord, take the zodiacs for a more in-depth exploration to see the site of an abandoned Inuit settlement. Hike through the lush and varies flora in Lindenow Fjord surrounded by epic mountain vistas.

Day 06-07 CRUISE SOUTH GREENLAND

Continue to Greenland’s fertile southern coast, rich in spectacular scenery as it is in history and culture. 

Cruise the magical Prince Christian Sound, a complex maze of narrow fjords and channels and home to calving glaciers, jagged mountains and sheer cliffs that plunge dramatically into the water.  Land at Hvalsey, one of the five sites of the UNESCO World Heritage Arctic farming complex Kujataa, exploring the site of Greenland’s largest and best-preserved Norse ruins dating back to the 14th-15th century. Visit the historical farming communities and learn about relics of the Viking period, see a cathedral of the Middle Ages and the 12th century

Day 08-13 CRUISE WEST GREENLAND

Heading north along the west coast of Greenland, boasting spectacular glaciers, mountains and vibrant communities.

Visit the bustling capital of Nuuk, wander the streets of historic Old Nuuk neighbourhood and visit the national museum to view the famous Greenlandic mummies. Go ashore in Sisimiut to explore the 18th century colonial buildings. Enjoy a zodiac excursion to experience enormous icebergs in the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the world’s most productive glacier in the northern hemisphere.  A hike to Icefjord will allow you to view this unforgettable icy river from the rocky shore. Explore the traditional wooden houses in the fishing community of Itilleq.
