Upon arrival, meet at the airport and enjoy a short tour of the capital today spending most time in the old city with its blend of local colorful architecture and French colonial charm.
Ascend to the old Queen’s Palace where you can also enjoy a great panorama of the city and surrounding valley
This morning, we drive 1.5 hour to the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, the former palace of the Malagasy Royal family. Today, it is an UNESCO World Heritage site.
Continue with another 140km/3.5 hour drive to Andasibe National Park and meet the leading primatologist. Tonight, we will enjoy a night walk looking out for some of the nocturnal lemurs such as Mouse and Wolly as well as other species of animals.
Andasibe is one of the most popular parks to see the lemurs. The forest shelter 14 species including the biggest one Idri. This morning, we go on a walking safari in search of them.
In the afternoon, we have the opportunity to go up close with 3 or 4 species of lemurs in Vakona Private Island.
Today, we drive 165km/4 hours back to Antananarivo Airport. After lunch, board our 2 hours private charter flight to Ranohira Airport.
Transfer to your lodge positioned high in the sandstone mountains. En route, stop by the Window of Isalo for a photo stop.
Some called it Isalo Jurassic Park while others Malagasy Colorado. Indeed, the canyon and rock formation is very impressive. And they are also habitat for 5 species of lemurs including the beautiful Verreaux Sifaka and ring-tailed lemurs.
We spend the full day exploring the park by foot with plenty of time at scenic spots and searching for lemurs and other wildlife.
This morning, our private plane takes us to Morondava (1hr 15min) on the west coast of Madagascar and gateway to two great natural highlights.
Visit the Kirindy Reserve in the morning, a lovely deciduous forest with 7 species of lemurs.
In the afternoon, experience the iconic trees of Madagascar at its best – the Baobab. Madagascar has 5 of the 6 species in the world, 4 of which are endemic here. The sight of rows & rows of this impressive trees along the Avenue of Baobab is memorable.
Start early this morning and board our private charter plane to Tsingy de Bemaraha Park (45min).
Tsingy means walking on tiptoe. The nearly impenetrable labyrinth of limestone needles justifies this name. The whole protected area has been designated a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
Spend the day in petit or grand Tsingy, exploring the park by foot.
Return to Bemaraha Airstrip to catch our charter flight for 2.5 hours (including refuel stop) to Anjajavy.
This exclusive Relais & Chateaux resort is tucked away in a remote northwest corner of the country. Nestled in its own reserve with the blue water of the Mozambique Channel and personalized service and superb cuisine, it is a perfect way to end our Madagascar adventure. And of course, there are still plenty to do and explore.
This evening, enjoy a night walk to see the nocturnal lemurs and other wildlife.
This morning, go on a walking safari to look out for more species of lemurs and late afternoon till sunset, we visit the nearby untouched Anjajavy fishing village and experience its charming local folks.
Go on a boat trip to appreciate the dramatic coastline of the region and you may enjoy snorkeling (no extra cost) if you like.
In the afternoon, you have time at leisure. Many resort activities are included – watersport, more walks or just relax & enjoy a spa.
Have a relaxing morning, your last opportunity to see the unique lemurs in their natural habitat.
Your private charter plane takes you back to Antananarivo (1hr 45min) for your onward international flight.
