Whether it’s the mountain air of an Indonesian volcano, the buzz of Istanbul’s bazaar, or the wild landscapes of South Africa, I’m happiest when a destination pushes me a little further out of my comfort zone.

My journeys have taken me through over 20 countries — each one leaving its own mark, from catching sunrise in the Maldives, to swimming with sharks in South Africa, to Harbin’s ice festivals in the depths of winter.
