Victoria Falls, Linyati & Okavango Delta
Nature & Wildlife
Botswana, a land of contrast and diverse pristine beauties. Okavango Delta is the highlight of Botswana if not of all Africa! Formed by rivers that never reaches the sea, this world’s largest inland delta is incredibly beautiful with its waterways and lagoons that support an amazing variety of wildlife.
This compact week-long luxury safari starts in Victoria Falls, one of the 3 greatest waterfalls in the world and a nature spectacle not to be missed. We then wing over Botswana to Linyati, a private concession bordering Chobe National Park famous for its large herds of elephants before culminating the trip at the Okavango Delta.
Arriving into Victoria Falls, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You are now so close to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world, located between Zambia and her neighbouring country, Zimbabwe.
In the afternoon, enjoy a sundowner cruise on Zambezi River this evening. Cruise along the banks of the river and view the spectacular scenery that is nature’s own sanctuary, and home to hippo, crocodiles and wild birds as you sip on your drink and enjoy the brilliantly red and orange African sunset.
Enjoy a walking tour to the Victoria Falls on both Zambia and Zimbabwe side. The sound of the falls can be heard more than 40km away while the spray and mist from the falling water can rise to a height of over 400 meters. No wonder that the local tribes used to call the waterfall Mosi-o-Tunya “The smoke that thunders”.
The afternoon is free at leisure to participate in the numerous optional activities available:
Drive 1.5 hours crossing the border to Botswana and continue to Kasane for your short flight to Linyanti.
Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is a private reserve bordering the western boundary of Chobe National Park. It covers enormous area of floodplains, swamps and dense forest along Linyanti River and Savute Channel, which makes it into a prime location to encounter large herd of elephants, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, impala and roan antelope.
Depart for your first game drive in the reserve after lunch. Being a private reserve, you get to go off-road driving for close-up encounters as well as exciting night drives.
Enjoy a full day of both land and water-based game viewing. Morning and afternoon game drives take you across open floodplains and through thick bands of riverine forest. Get on a motorboat safari that easily manoeuvre amongst bird-filled reed beds and get close to wildlife at the water’s edge.
Fly to the heart of Botswana – Okavango Delta. Listed as UNESCO Natural World Heritage in 2014, Okavango Delta is an important wildlife area. Fed by floodwaters from faraway Angola, this seasonal-driven environment is home to hundreds of species of large herds, predators and birds. We showcase the best experience with unique and contrasting experiences of the delta by carefully selecting “water-and-land-based camps” to complete your Delta’s experience.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive this afternoon, along the river systems and flood plains. The wildlife in the area is prolific and great chances to spot some of the larger predators, herds of elephant and buffalo and all the plains animals that occur here. Night drives provide opportunities for you to see nocturnal mammals such as civet, genet and bushbaby, as well as owls and perhaps leopard on a hunt.
Enjoy full day of morning and afternoon activities. As one of the most incredible wilderness sanctuaries in Africa, the delta occupies 15,000 square kilometres of water channels, lagoons and islands. Where water levels permit, glide through the channels on a mokoro or powerboat excursions, experiencing an authentic and unobtrusive insight into this incredible wetland paradise.
Enjoy another full day of activity.
Optional: Scenic helicopter flight. Fly deep in the delta and soar over pools and lagoons on a flight over the delta. Watch a herd of elephants walking gently along open grasslands or marvels at the lechwe leaping through the papyrus reeds in the shallows. The doors of the helicopter can be removed for great photography. The helicopter can also be used for private inter-camp transfers and arrive in your camp in style. Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Maun where you connect your homebound international flight.
