Luxor is the capital of ancient Egypt during its most glorious period of the New Kingdom. It is befittingly referred to as the world’s biggest outdoor museum. We will spend the next 3 days here exploring its amazing archaeological treasure. We start with Luxor Temple, one of the best examples of the great archaeological marvel of that era.
We spend a full day at the West Bank today.
Explore the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Admire the exquisites ancient art works on the murals of the tombs of Pharoah such as Seti I , Ramses V & VI and King Tut as well as Queen Nefetari. You will also visit Queen Hatsheput Temple and the Colossi of Memnon.
This morning, we visit the Temple of Hathor and the complex at Dendera, one of the best-preserved ancient Egypt monuments. In the afternoon, dwell deeper into history in the Luxor Museum.
Our luxurious Nile Cruise, Historia welcome us today with an evening cocktail. And tonight, we are treated to the Light & Sound show at Karnak Temple.
Our last sight in Luxor is also the highlight – Karnak Temple. This is the largest religious building ever been constructed!
Our cruise set sail in the afternoon for Esna. Relax and enjoy the scenery of the rural life along the Nile.
Today, continue to enjoy our Historia Cruise and visit another 2 stunning ancient Egyptian monuments – the Ptolemic Temple of Horus at Edfu and the unusual Temple of Kom Ombo that was dedicated to 2 gods.
Historia arrives at Aswan today. Beautifully set at the first Cataract, Aswan is blessed with lovely setting and abundant historical sites.
You will visit the unfinished obelisk & the Temple of Philae. And enjoy sailing on the Felucca (traditional sail boat) on the Nile stopping at Kitchener Island & the Mausoleum of Agha Khan.
Another “wow” experience today.
Take an excursion by flight to Abu Simbel. The colossus statues of Ramses II and Nefatari set by the lake is indeed a sight to behold. This is also perhaps UNESCO most amazing effort to save a monument.
You will also visit a Nubian House.
Fly back to Cairo this morning.
We will discover the surprising Coptic Cairo heritage including the Hanging Church built into the walls of the water gate and Abu Serga where the Holy Family was rested after fleeing Israel.
Visit to the newly opened National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, offers visitor a general overview of all the different historical periods that encompass Egypt.
The only surviving and oldest of the 7 wonders of the ancient world – the Pyramid of Giza! A site not to be missed.
We will have the opportunity to have a private sunrise visit to appreciate the beauty of this oldest wonder of the world without crowd! Apart from visit the 3 pyramids and sphinx, we will also travel to Saqarra to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser.
This evening, enjoy the Light & Sound Show at the Pyramid.
While the pyramids are the highlights of Cairo, the city was also one of the greatest Islamic Centres of the medieval period and one of the world’s oldest Christian communities.
We will explore Islamic Cairo, including of course shopping in the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Enjoy the private entrance to the Egyptian Museum after it closes to the public, visit the whole museum including King Tut golden mask Room, just for the group.
Transfer to the airport for your flight out.
