Nestled along China’s southeastern coast, Fujian offers a captivating blend of seaside charm, mountain sanctuaries, and living heritage. Historic port cities that once opened China to the world, serene tea mountains veiled in mist, and rural valleys dotted with ancient circular Tulou dwellings. Renowned for its deep-rooted tea culture, Fujian is the birthplace of world-famous Oolong varieties, and its culinary excellence gained global recognition – in late 2025, Quanzhou was named a UNESCO “City of Gastronomy”.
Our journey begins in Xiamen, a cosmopolitan island city admired for its colonial architecture and refined dining scene. We’ll then travel inland to Anxi, home of fragrant Tieguanyin Oolong, before continuing to Quanzhou, an ancient maritime hub filled with history and faith. From there, we ascend the lush slopes of Wuyi Mountain for an immersive Dahongpao tea experience with UNESCO-listed landscapes. The adventure concludes in Taxia, where time-honored Tulou clusters stand as architectural marvels and symbols of communal life, offering a profound glimpse into Fujian’s cultural heart.

Arrive Xiamen
Arriving into Xiamen, we drive along the beautiful island ring road along the east coast of Xiamen,about 30 minutes into the city old town and visit the No. 8 seafood market and taste some traditional food recommended by Michelin, continue to the foot of Wulao Peak, visit South Putuo Temple.

Gulangyu Island
Today, we take a ferry to the charming Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its colonial heritage and tranquil atmosphere. Stroll through the island’s winding lanes lined with beautifully preserved historic houses before enjoying an authentic Minnan (South Fujian) tea tasting inside a 200-year-old red-brick residence. Continue to the Sunlight Rock Scenic Area for panoramic views of the coastline, followed by visits to the serene Shuzhuang Garden and the renowned Gulangyu Piano Museum, home to an exquisite collection of antique pianos from around the world.

Visit Yunling Tea Plantation, one of the largest tea plantain in Xiping, Anxi, hand-on experience of traditional of Olong Tea processing , also visit Museum of Tieguanyin to learn more about the history and culture of Oolong Tea.
Maritime Silk Road
Visit Luoyang Bridge, renowned for its innovative engineering techniques, including the use of “raft foundations” and “oyster cultivation” to reinforce the bridge piers. As one of the Four Great Ancient Bridges of China, it played a crucial role in ancient maritime trade along the Maritime Silk Road.

Historical Treasures of Quanzhou
Begin by exploring Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that highlights Quanzhou’s role as a major global trading hub. Visit the Qingjing Mosque, one of China’s oldest mosques, located centrally and reflecting the city’s historical significance in Islamic culture and trade, and the Guandi Temple nearby.
Experience the charm of historic Quanzhou by touring the Old Quanzhou Streets. This delightful area offers a captivating blend of traditional architecture and vibrant local life. As you wander through the narrow lanes, you’ll encounter well-preserved buildings that reflect the city’s rich past, bustling markets with local crafts and snacks, and historic landmarks that narrate stories of bygone eras. The streets are lined with quaint shops, local eateries, and traditional homes, providing a genuine glimpse into Quanzhou’s cultural heritage and everyday life.

This morning, take a train to Wuyishan.
Home of the famous “Dahongpao” rock tea. The 3km trail leads you to Water Curtain Cave via the supernatural Big Red Robe Tea Mother Trees and amazing Nine Dragon Nest, excellent environment for Wuyi Tea to grow. Followed by an in-depth tea experience guide by local tea master.

Hike to the Heavenly Tour Peak with its Bird’s Eye View Pavilion, Flax Brooklet and famous ancient trees. enjoy 1.5h bamboo raft floating on Nine Bend Stream clear cool water, stretching over 62.8km of dramatic mountains and cliffs. Conclude the day with “Impression Da Hong Pao” performance directed by a group of famous directors – Zhang Yimou, a first 360° rotating auditorium in China.

Gain insights into dynasties life from thousand years ago at Xiamei Ancient Village, with ancient buildings sculpted in brisk, wood and stone, which is part of the Wuyi World culture heritage. Take train to Nanjing (3-3.5 hours) in the morning,
Tonight, stay in a traditional Tulou building inside exquisite Taxia Village built in 1426 in Ming Dynasty by Zhang Family experience true Hakka culture.

Tulou Heritage
Ascend to an observation deck for Tianluokeng Tulou panoramic view, nicknamed “four dishes and one soup”. Proceed to the five-storied Yuchang Lou, one of the oldest existing Tulous and famed for its tilted pillars up to 15° angle! Visit Shiqiao Ancient Village and stroll along traditional streets to see China’s rural countryside, an authentic village with few tourists.
This afternoon we drive about 1h into Yongding mountainous area for the “Tulou buildings” (UNESCO). Visit Chuxi Village, with 36 Tulou buildings constructed in 14th century. Chuxi Tulou Group has a pattern-like stretch, with high historical, scientific, and artistic values. Glimpse into the life and customs of a local family, then follow the field path in the back mountain of Chuxi to view the stunning terraced fields along the riverside up to the mountain top.
